Media and Telecommunications Convergence Conference 2008

Orange Jordan participated in sponsoring the 5th Annual Media and Telecommunications Convergence Conference 2008, which was organized by the Arab Advisors Group. Under the patronage of His Excellency Eng. Bassem Al Rousan, the Minister of Information and Communications Technology, the conference attracted a wide audience from international specialists both in telecommunications and media sectors.
Mr. Mickael Ghossein, the CEO of the Jordan Telecom Group and other representatives from Orange Jordan participated by presenting working papers, and joining seminars that were held over the course of the two-day Conference.

At the conference Orange Jordan showcased the Group's telecommunications services such as ADSL, Livebox lines, Orange fixed lines, and Wi-Fi service which was made available to all delegates of the conference.

The exhibition also featured a media and services center equipped with high quality telecommunications services, which were accessible to the participants and the local, Arab and global media members.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hosting the Arab Telecommunications and Information Council of Ministers

Mr. Mickael Ghossein, CEO of the Jordan Telecom Group hosted the Arab Ministers and the official delegation participating in the 12th session of the Arab Telecommunications and Information Council of Ministers, over a gala dinner at the Sheraton Hotel in Amman.
The council was held under the patronage of His Excellency Eng. Bassem al Rousan, and discussed a number of issues related to the information and communications technology sector in the Arab world addressing three main issues; creating a competitive Arab information market, achieving comprehensive penetration, and improving service quality. Discussions were also carried out to put into action the ''Arab Strategy on ICT- building the Information Society 2007-2010''.

 

 

 

 

 

Closing ceremony of Orange's schools and universities tournaments 2008

Orange Jordan held a closing ceremony at the final game of its schools and universities tournaments under the patronage of His Excellency, Dr. Tayseer Nueimi, the Minister of Education, at Prince Hamza Hall.
This came in line with its pre-signed agreement with the Jordanian Basketball Federation whereby Orange Jordan sponsored the schools and universities tournaments during the 2007/2008 season.

The ceremony included the final game, a spectacular sports show and many sports activities. At the end of the ceremony Mrs. Majd Shweikeh, VP JTG/CEO Orange Personal presented the winners with special trophies and gifts, while Orange Jordan, the ceremony main sponsor, distributed special gifts to the audience.

Orange Jordan held a lunch banquet for its corporate clients from the public and private sectors at the Intercontinental Hotel, expressing its gratitude to its corporate clients for their loyalty and continuous support.

The event came simultaneously with the launch of “Business Everywhere”, the first-of-its-kind service in the Kingdom, which enables subscribers to stay in touch with their businesses effectively, wherever and whenever, through connecting their laptops to the net over GPRS/EDGE, WiFi, or ADSL services.

 

 

 

 

JTG General Assembly holds its annual meeting

JTG General Assembly held its annual meeting at the Sheraton hotel in Amman. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Shabib Ammari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JTG, and discussed the items listed on the agenda and came up with the appropriate decisions related to the listed issues.

 

 

 

France Telecom Orange and Orange Jordan inaugurate the first Technocentre activities outside Europe

Under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Bassem Rousan, Minister of Information and Communications Technology, France Telecom-Orange joined hands with Orange Jordan to inaugurate its first Technocentre site outside Europe, to speed up the launch of exclusive services and convergent offers that carry the name of its commercial brand Orange.
The Technocentre in Jordan will serve as a principal access for all France Telecom–Orange affiliates in Africa, Middle East and Asia (AMEA region) that wish to acquire the high dedicated innovation streams, which include voice products and services, portal and multimedia, broadband growth as well as Small Office/Home Office (Soho)/SME services.

Orange Jordan the platinum sponsor of the biggest university trip in the Middle East “Spring Fling”

Orange Jordan sponsored the biggest annual university trip organized in the Middle East “Spring Fling” where thousands of participants gathered at Orange parking lot to start their trip which took place at the Golf Club.
This year’s trip witnessed the participation of the Lebanese star Wael Kfoury as well as Ayman Zbib and Myriam Fares. CEO Mr. Mickael Ghossein, Orange Personal CEO Mrs. Majd Shweikeh, and Orange Home Vice President Mrs. Wassila Zitoune also attended the trip.
