The Jordan Telecom Group (JTG) honors former Ministers of Telecommunications, Chairmen of its Boards of Directors, and General Directors.

JTG honoured last night former ministers of telecommunications since the establishment of the Jordan Wire and Wireless Telecommunications Corporation – in 1971.  The event also honoured former BOD members and general directors in an initiative that reflects the Group’s strong belief in the efforts of its sons who contributed to place the company in the forefront of telecom operators, both locally and regionally.

(Present) Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr Shabib Ammari, said during the honouring event, that this event reflects the JT Group’s appreciation for its sons who contributed during their management of the Group, to improve its performance and raise the standards of its services.

He added the Group enjoys today a highly pioneering status, both locally and regionally, based on the foundations established by its sons, in terms of tradition and working methodologies that they conveyed to the Group, manifested in diverse expertise that enrich the Group’s work in the market.

Ammari revealed the JT Group’s intention to brand all its products and services  “Orange”, which is owned by France Telecom, the JTG Strategic Partner.  The JTG will however, retain its JTG name, in harmony with France Telecom’s drives.  Such a change Ammari added, would enable JTG benefit greatly from the know-how of the international Company Orange, as well as other privileges entertained by the Group, its employees and subscribers alike.

On his part, Group CEO Mickael Ghossein asserted that the coming phase represents a challenge for the JTG, in light of the severe competition the four Group companies are facing.  He further asserted that the Group believes in the importance of competition, and in transforming the challenges posed by the competitive situation into opportunities. 

He added that the Group’s transformation to become an integrated operator last year, has come in harmony with international market drives, and competition requirements.  Such a transformation gave the Group, its subscribers and employees, the power to work and obtain the best services at the best rates.

On his part, former Prime Minister Abdul Raouf Al Rawabdeh, valued the JTG’s step to honour the former generation that contributed towards the development of JT, and its advancement.  He expressed his admiration of the level the Company has achieved which equals that of international entities.

He further spoke of some of the challenges that used to face the Jordanian telecom sector in past periods.  He called upon sector workers to exert additional efforts, to achieve further gains, and called upon future generations to continue to keep the pace of the prevailing technological and knowledge revolution.

The honoured dignitaries expressed their appreciation for their honouring, asserting their ever pride in the JTG, as a pioneering national entity, that is committed to its social responsibility, and endeavours to achieve the vision of HM King Abdullah II in making Jordan, an ICT centre on a regional level.

Towards the end of the celebration, Chairman of the JTG Dr Shabib Ammari, and its CEO Mickael Ghossein, distributed plaques and valuable presents on the honoured dignitaries .  The event was attended by the Minister of ICT and a number of officials.
