Jordan Telecom Group Kicks off "Youth Kiosk" Next Week

Jordan Telecom Group has concluded its preparation for the launch of a new service and a broadband access to a portal which will provide content that in return will contribute in the development of the educational process and broaden the learning culture.

"The development of this portal stresses on the Jordan Telecom Group's commitment toward supporting the governmental initiatives, especially the initiatives which are related to the e-government and e-learning initiatives," said Mickael Ghossein, CEO of Jordan Telecom Group. "We aim to expand the advantages of curriculum content development which goes along with the e-learning techniques, and raise the awareness of technology usage and its benefits."

Ghossein highlighted that such kind of contributions from Jordan telecom are considered effective participation from the private sector toward creating a society which enjoys the skills of the e-culture, in addition to improving and enriching the Jordanian learning experience and supporting the governmental initiatives in this field.

The Jordan Gateway portal "Youth kiosk"  (our internal project name) is unique with its safe content which has been presented to students in order to see how they interacted with the curriculum and the learning procedures in addition the gateway provides the opportunity of fun and a continuous connectivity with a secure developed content .
"The gateway gives the opportunity to parents to guide their children and encourage them to learn in a safe practical environment that the wheel of knowledge is running and we will reach into building a young generation which enjoys the skills and expertise of IT and education." Said Ghossein. 

"The initiative has various goals; enhancing the expertise and the skills of the kids and the students throughout the Kingdom, spreading awareness on knowledge based economy, in addition to raising the awareness of technology usage and its benefits," added Ghossein.

The initiative of the Group goes inline with the Royal Vision in creating knowledge based economy in the Kingdom, and enabling Jordan to become a regional IT hub.

Ghossein  stressed on the Group's commitment toward the Royal Vision in creating a partnership with the public sector which in return paves the path toward contributing in the Royal Vision and spreading the computer usage at home and learning centers.

Today, 200,000 families own a PC at home without being connected to e-content, according to studies from Jordan Telecom Group.

Jordan Telecom Group highlighted that "Youth Kiosk", is not the first initiative that the group launches in the e- learning field as it has contributed in computerizing the Arabic curriculum, in addition, so far the group has contributed in connecting 3200 schools and 8 official universities with internet and intranet, in addition to the activities of  Jordan Telecom internet bus which roamed throughout the kingdom in a bid to raise the awareness of internet usage.
