Orange introduces its first Universal product that is developed in Jordan and by Jordanians
World Call is an Arabic enabled Internet calling solution developed in Jordan
(Amman, 24th June 2007): Jordan Telecom Group announced its first innovative and branded Orange service targeting the international market, titled “World Call” during a press conference held at the Group’s headquarters, on June 24.
The press meeting was headed by the Group Chief Executive Officer Mickael Ghossien, Group EVP Francoise De Loynes, and CEO Innovations & Corporate Integrated Solutions Business Unit Tamouh Khauli.
According to JTG CEO Ghossein, the move, is the first sign of Orange services being introduced in Jordan. “Today we celebrate the birth of Orange’s first product in Jordan as a proof of our commitment to delivering the promise we gave when we first adopted this new trademark.”
World Call is the latest technology in the world of international calling via the Internet, which gives world wide communication options through a personal computer to phone calling, instant messaging, voice chat, and video conferencing, giving customers the chance to call anywhere across the globe. With World Call, customers can make high quality international calls from a PC to a PC or from a PC to a phone with latter requiring online credit that customers can buy easily.
“World Call is an innovative product that was developed in Jordan by Jordanians serving customers across the world. The product’s Arabic interface makes its friendly to use for Arabic speaking people across the world,” Ghossein added.
For his part, Khauli said, “We present today our leading bilingual solution for international calling through IP, making it possible for a large segment of communities world wide to benefit from this easy- to- use service and enjoy its clarity, dependability and exceptional rates, especially when calling from North America, Japan, Europe and the rest of the world to Jordan and the Middle East.

Earlier this month, JTG introduced Orange, the commercial brand of the world’s leading telecommunications operator France Telecom Group (FTG(, when Wanadoo, the Group’s Internet and data provider, re-branded to Orange as a prelude to introducing Orange comprehensive services (internet, fixed and mobile) to the Jordanian market.
