Stemming from Orange’s belief in effective and real partnerships with civic society institutes, CEO of Jordan Telecom Group Mickael Ghossein signed a Ramadan breakfast agreement with his Excellency Engineer Nidal al Hadeed, Deputy Chairman of Tikyet Um Ali Management Commission. The ceremony was attended by Mr Ihab al Theeb, General Manager of Tkiyet Um Ali, and Mr Yousef Ma’adi, Manager of the JT Foundation.

The agreement is that Orange will erect a number of Ramadan tents in different areas in the Kingdom, and shall provide an Iftar meal (breakfast) as well as distribute food packages for needy families.  On its part Tkiyet Um Ali will manage and execute the Iftar project.  Additionally, and for the third year running, Tkiyet Um Ali shall provide Zakat al Iftar services, through telephone number 090099111, by calculating the Zakat payment per person, which equals one phone call.

Ghossein expressed his pleasure on signing the agreement, which comes to translate the Royal vision to endeavour and promote partnership between the private sector and the civic society organizations. “Orange endeavours to enhance interaction with the society, and to provide for the services needed by all segments of the society, thus responding to the needs of those poorer segments during the Holy month of Ramadan.  The Group will be holding daily Ramadan Iftars for the poor and needy all over the Kingdom, in the tents it will erect in Amman, Irbid, Mafraq and Ma’an,” he said.

Eng Al Hadeed said “these partnerships reflect the interactive interest of the private sector in the problem and sufferings of the society.  It also reflects their belief in the ways and means adopted by Tkiyet Um Ali which provides programmes that deal with the problems through long terms solutions.”  He added that Orange was one of the first supporters and believers in the programmes and aims of Tkiyet Um Ali through the Jordan Telecom Group.

Tkiyet Um Ali aims through this cooperation, and through its different Ramadan projects to help thousands of the needy and poorer families, by providing Iftars for over three thousand persons daily.  Also, Tkiyet Um Ali supports poorer families by providing food for around 3,500 families, and cooperates with Orange, to collect through phonecalls the Fitr Zakat, and redistribute it as food gifts for thousands on the occasion of Eid al Fitr.

Orange endeavours on daily basis to provide all the necessary support and sponsorship needed by civic society institutions, especially those engaged in human dimensional work, through its Foundation established in 2001, to promote its policy of interaction with the civic society and responding to its needs.  Orange stressed that the choice of commitment towards sustained development for the Jordanian society, is a choice of no return.
