The Jordan Telecom Group (JTG) and its strategic partner France Telecom ( FT) bid to establish effective and true partnerships with civic society institutions.
Mickael Ghossein, the JTG Chief Executive Officer, and His Excellency Engineer Nidal Al Hadid, Vice President of the Administrative Commission for Tikiyyet Um Ali, signed an agreement for the Ramadan Charity Breakfast project.
The Agreement states that the JTG and FT, shall erect 7 Ramadan tents in 5 Governorates across the Kingdom where a breakfast meal ( Iftar ) will be offered at the tents, to be managed by Tkiyyet Um Ali.
CEO Mickael Ghossein expressed his pleasure to sign the Agreement, which translates the Royal Vision, in working towards enhancing the partnership between the private sector and civic society institutions. "we endeavour in our Group, alongside our strategic partner France Telecom, to enhance interaction with the society, by offering them the telecom services that different segments of the society may need. We cater for all such needed areas to enhance qualitative growth of the Jordanian society," Ghossein said. He explained that the Ramadan Breakfast project will contribute towards the needy segments of the society during Ramadan. The JTG will distribute in its Ramadani tents a total of 1,400 meals every day for the needy people in Amman, Irbid, Zarqa'a, Mafraq & Tafileh.
On his part, Engineer Al Hadid said "such partnerships reflect the private sector's interest and caring for social hardships and problems. It also reflect the people's faith in the Tkiyyeh programmes, and in its long term solutions."
Al Hadid added that the JT Group has been of one of the early supporters and believers in the programmes and aims of Tkiyyet Umm Ali.
The Tkiyyeh, was established in 2002 and funded by HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, to commemorate Her Late Majesty Queen Alia's memory. The Tkiyyeh aims to achieve social equality amongst citizens, combat poverty and hunger in Jordan, provide a decent living for the poorest segments in the society, through the provision of daily meals and the distribution of food packages to those who need it most.
The JTG endeavours, as always, to provide all means of support and necessary sponsorship, to civic society institutes, and to their various activities. In particular the JTG supports projects that have humanistic dimensions through its Fund, the JT Fund, established in 2001. The JTG asserts that the choice of commitment towards contributing to sustained development for the Jordanian society, is a choice of no return.
