First integrated telecom operator in the region that implements the system
Jordan Telecom Group\ Orange successfully completes implementation of Oracle’s latest release

Jordan Telecom Group (JTG), the sole integrated telecom operator in the Kingdom, has successfully completed implementing the latest release of Oracle E-Business Suite; Oracle R12, in all the Group’s companies. With this, JTG becomes the first integrated telecom operator in the Middle East and among the first in the world to implement this system.

This remarkable achievement was announced during a press conference headed by JTG CEO Mr. Mickael Ghossein with the presence of the Chief Financial Officer Raslan Deiranieh, Chief Human Resources Officer, Ammar Shaheen and Raed Hajarat from Oracle

This system is distinguished for its outstanding capability to deal with a number of companies within the same program, enabling the Group to easily and smoothly use the accounts of each company separately and at the same time extracting the accounts of all of its companies.

Mr. Ghossein pointed out that the root of this project goes back to the year 2007 where “Big Bang” integrated method was implemented in all the Group’s companies. “Today we are proud to announce adopting one of the latest Oracle systems to all Jordan Telecom Group’s companies where we implemented it in a challenging period of 9 months covering three major streams; financial, human resources and supply chain”.

Commenting on the reason behind selecting Oracle solutions Mr. Ghossein said: “We have adopted Oracle’s systems once again due to its outstanding history in developing and implementing automated projects. We have had a previous successful Oracle solution implementation experience during the past years and we were sincerely satisfied with its services”.

With the implementation of Oracle in JTG, and connecting it with all points of sales which reach up to around fifty centers as well as connecting it with the billing systems; the Group was able to accomplish various tasks at a record time enabling it today to extract all its financial data within one or two days after end of each month /year.

For his part Ammar Shaheen “One of the key reasons behind adopting Oracle’s systems is the positive reflection it will have on our customers across the Kingdom, as implementing this huge project will serve our subscribers in a faster and better approach which comes inline with our strategy and will provide them with all products in a much practical and efficient way”.

It is worth mentioning that the Group had two options at the beginning of the project regarding which version to adopt. The first one was to implement the version prior to the latest one, a tested release known for being more stable in terms of performance and with minimal technical problems. The other option was to implement the latest version (R12) setting Orange Jordan as one of the first companies in the world planning to adopt this version, thus fulfilling the Group’s needs as an integrated operator, and keeping the current data of each company independent.

The Group has taken a bold decision to apply the second option and that came after consulting with Oracle’s management where the latter pledged to provide JTG with all the support and priority needed considering it a strategic partner to Oracle in the region.

According to Mr. Ghossein the Group have faced some difficulties during the implementation of R12 but with the great effort exerted by all employees and with the collaboration of Oracle, JTG was able to successfully overcome them.

With the completion of this project, JTG/Orange highlights once again its position as a leader in implementing automated applications not only in Jordan but also in the whole region.
