Orange Jordan sponsors and supports Al-Masar school for Child Development

Orange Jordan recently signed a sponsorship agreement with Al-Masar School for Child Development, under which the company will partially cover the school year expenses for six of the school’s students. The initiative, organized in cooperation with the Orange Foundation — France Telecom's arm for social works — falls in line with the company’s longstanding commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s younger generations, particularly in the arenas of education and employment.

The agreement was signed by Orange Jordan's CEO Nayla Khawam and the Principal of Al-Masar School Wedad Aqrouq.

Orange Jordan's support was conceived with the objective of bolstering the children's performance, uplifting their aptitude for learning, assisting their parents by taking some of the financial burden off their shoulders, in addition to supporting a fine education institute that exerts exceptional effort toward providing a healthy educational environment for its students.

Commenting on the signing of the agreement Khawam stressed that the company is committed to providing support and sponsorship to this segment of the local community, —to contribute to their upbringing and help them realize their full potential as active members of their community.

She explained that Orange Jordan, along with its partner, the Orange Foundation, are committed to partnering with local communities to achieve sustainable development, and both consider these students worthy of all the attention and support they can get.

From her side, Aqrouq expressed her appreciation of the support provided by Orange Jordan to the school. She underscored the role and mission undertaken by the school and the host of services it provides to the students, which include assisting them to acquire the skills necessary to help them excel in their lives and give them the needed assistance to integrate themselves into their communities. She explained that the school’s mission entails substantial financial burdens, requiring one-on-one teaching techniques, in addition to continuous research and development so that the school remains fully apprised of the latest developments in the field of rehabilitation and childcare, thus preserving the quality of services provided.

Orange Jordan's understanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR) embraces the concept of partnership with local NGOs, through which the company provides necessary support and sponsorship for developmental projects throughout the Kingdom and in accordance with national priorities.  The company had recently launched its CSR strategy for the coming 2 years, comprising of two primary projects: the Orange Interned Fund, which seeks to bolster internet penetration in the Kingdom’s governorates, and the Orange Villages project, which delivers much-needed development to identified poverty pockets around the Kingdom.
