(Amman, 8 June, 2008): With the attendance of Jordan Telecom Group CEO Mr. Mickael Ghossein and Jordanian Engineers Association President Eng. Wael Saqqa, Orange, the sole integrated operator in the Kingdom, signed on (Day) a partnership agreement with the Jordanian Engineers Association to broaden the line of offered services.
The signing took place at the Association’s headquarters with a number of representatives from both parties attending the event.
According to the agreement, Orange will offer members, employees and visitors of the Association a wide number of telecom services including mobile, Internet and call center services. In addition, plans to enhance the promotion of Orange services among Association subscribers are underway.
Ghossein expressed his delight in renewing the agreement by saying: “This agreement highlights Orange’s commitment towards achieving the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II in spreading the Internet culture in Jordan through supporting the local community and Jordanian associations.” He also underlined the strong relationship that bonds the Group with the Jordanian Engineers Association.
Eng. Wael Saqqa was pleased with the collaboration as well, describing Orange as a company that improved the concept of competition in the telecom industry, while also achieving admirable results in offering services for its growing number of subscribers. Saqqa highlighted the different achievements and activities of the Jordanian Engineers Association, explaining that the association advocates the engineering profession and regulates its practices in Jordan. According to Saqqa, the Association also seeks to maintain and claim the rights of its members in addition to offering different services to support their academic and professional knowledge. The Association is considered one of the largest professional associations in the Kingdom, which includes a number of Arab and foreign engineers that are allowed to exercise the profession of engineering under the provisions of the law.
He stressed on the important role engineers play in developing different sectors including telecommunications, expressing his gratitude towards the Group’s silver sponsorship of its 50th anniversary celebration.
Ghossein concluded by saying that the Group’s continuous efforts in meeting its subscribers needs and exceeding their expectations is part of its strategic approach to design and secure the best services and telecom solutions.
