Jordan Network for Secure Surfing
JTG Seminar held at Amman Private University

In alignment with its drive to interact and resonate with the education sector being the most important of strategic sectors in achieving comprehensive development, the Jordan Telecom Group (JTG) held a seminar in cooperation with the Amman Private University, entitled “Jordan Network for Secure Surfing”. The Seminar was attended by students and University staff and reflected JTG’s commitment to provide students with all that would ensure an educational output in harmony with their requirements.
Dr Ahmad Damiri, Director of corporate sales at the JTG, asserted the Group’s commitment towards achieving national aims in the education field, thus firmly establishing partnerships with different sectors in Jordan, including academic institutions. Damiri added that this partnership led to the establishment of “Jordan Network for Secure Surfing” project, which endeavors to improve teaching methodologies adopted in Jordan, and contributes towards realizing the knowledge society and e-culture, through students accessing educational content on the Internet posted by Jordanian universities and the Ministry of Education at a reasonable fee.
Damiri also made a presentation on the policies and drives of the JTG, upon its becoming the only integrated operator in Jordan, in terms of its putting on offer integrated services. The Group has grown and developed substantially in the past few years in accordance with the requirements and needs of this phase in terms of ICT services, ranging from fixed phones to digital services, mobile communications and e-solutions.
Jordan Network for the Secure Surfing Project Manager, Nidal Ramahi, made a presentation about the network, distinguished by its safe content for students and teachers alike, enabling them to interact with the curricula, excel as they learn, while having fun, and enjoying secure access and developed content.
Ramahi added that the initiative aims as well to enhance the experience and skills of children and students, spread and increase awareness of knowledge economy in the use of broadband technologies. The Portal allows parents an opportunity to direct their children and urge them to learn in a useful and safe environment, thus guaranteeing progress of knowledge, and achieves arming a generation with science, and modern technologies at the same time.
The JTG initiative comes in harmony with the Royal vision to provide a knowledge economy environ, and to make Jordan a regional ICT hub, asserting its social responsibility.
