Orange sponsors and participates in the 4th Arab Media and Telecommunications Convergence Conference
Orange, the commercial brand of France Telecom Group-Jordan Telecom Group’s (JTG) strategic partner, participated in sponsoring and supporting the 4th Arab Media and Telecommunications Conference 2007. The Conference was organized by Arab Advisers under the patronage of Basem al Rousan, Minister of ICT, and attracted a wide audience from international specialists both in the telecommunications and media sectors. The Conference focused this year on Arab Market drives and growth strategies. Light was also shed on different issues, problems and new opportunities posed by the unprecedented growth in number of operators that Arab telecom and media sectors are witnessing.
Specialists from the Jordan Telecom Group participated by presenting working papers, and joining seminars that held over the course of the two-days Conference. The specialists tackled different topics such as organic growth in the telecom sector, how to achieve it, growth requirements and challenges facing it, and they compared between organic growth and M&A growth, while discussing benefits of each growth trend. Discussion also covered the close cooperation and universal services provision between Group companies, the importance of integration and enhancing means of cooperation and how it could all be molded in one drive of integrated services strongly demanded by the market.
Integration has resulted in more focused services the cost of which is carefully scrutinized, as well as enhanced customer services being the pivot of the whole operational process. Attendants also discussed the strategies of mixing growth with administrative cost-cutting, dynamic operational performance, providing lead solution in the market, and placing the customer in the heart and pivot of the full operational process. Participants also discussed other topics of interest.
The Conference has been granted Orange sponsorship, due to the role Orange takes upon itself to support local communities it operates in covering all fields. However, Orange pays special attention for different efforts that spread the IT revolution on different society segments. The Exhibition that was simultaneously held with the Conference, exposed the concept on integration on the ground. The Orange wing at the exhibition displayed initiatives, services and basic platform for full integrated media services, and the advanced technological level that Orange adopts to provide its clients with new services, thus developing the ICT sectors and providing the Jordanian society with all that is new.
